LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — New video from Arkansas State Police shows the moment a cruiser barreled into a suspect’s vehicle at the end of a pursuit.
KARK News reported the incident began after 19-year-old Tyrese Lancaster passed a state trooper at a high rate of speed on an interstate. After the trooper attempted to pull Lancaster over, he sped away and a 140-mph pursuit began.
As the man weaved through traffic, another trooper joined the pursuit, followed by a third trooper a short time later.
Dash cam video shows the suspect losing control of the vehicle and crashing into a guard rail off of an exit. Once Lancaster’s car came to a stop, a trooper blocked half of the roadway with his cruiser. As that officer was doing so, another trooper’s vehicle crashes into Lancaster’s car as the suspect rolls out of the driver’s side of his vehicle.
The suspect was treated for minor injuries at the scene before being taken into custody for fleeing, reckless driving, and possession or purchase of alcohol by a minor.
After a search of Lancaster’s vehicle, officers recovered a gym bag in the rear seat that contained four unopened 12 oz. beers.
