Officers removed the man from the fence, but his pants ripped in the process

SAN DIEGO — A fleeing man who allegedly threw a rock at another man’s head was detained fairly easily after he hopped a fence and got his pants caught on a spike.

Police told KGTV the victim was outside his apartment Monday when the suspect hit him in the head with a rock. The suspect fled until he was blocked by a homeowner’s fence.

Police and a K-9, who were waiting for the suspect on the other side, told him to hop over the fence. But when he did, his pants got stuck on one of the spikes.

The suspect was removed by officers, but not without ripping his pants down to his ankles.

According to the news station, the suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Seems like fleeing suspects should invest in tighter pants.
