LOS ANGELES — Dashcam video shows the moment an LAPD cruiser hit a fellow officer at the end of a suspect pursuit, according to KTLA.

Officers were initially pursuing a stolen pickup truck, KTLA reports. The driver crashed into a fire hydrant and a car that was parked in a driveway.

In the video, an officer inside the cruiser appears to yell “heads up,” just before hitting the officer on foot. The officer was thrown into the air, landing on the wet pavement and rolling before getting back up.

On Tuesday, LAPD authorities did not verify whether their officer was hit by a department vehicle. They did, however, state that during the pursuit of a stolen vehicle, an officer was struck at the end of the pursuit, resulting in non-critical injuries, KTLA reports. LAPD expressed gratitude that the officer involved in the incident was not severely injured.

Video shows that the officer was able to stand up just minutes after the collision. Shortly thereafter, paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department transported the officer to the hospital.
