BALTIMORE — A suspect who fled from Baltimore City Police in a stolen vehicle stopped to get gas along the way, WBAL reports.

Officers responded to an area around 8:25 a.m. Wednesday for the report of a stolen vehicle. Officers with the Regional Auto Theft Task Force found the stolen vehicle around 12:30 p.m. Police said the vehicle drove away and onto the interstate.

The aviation unit with Baltimore County Police surveilled the stolen vehicle as it traveled through multiple jurisdictions. At one point, the vehicle collided with the side of a Mobility bus under the Maryland Transit Administration. The suspect then stopped at a gas station, where the driver was seen attempting to refuel before abruptly driving away.

When the suspect drove off, the gas nozzle was still attached to the vehicle.

WBAL reports their SkyTeam saw the suspect run out of gas. The driver got out of the vehicle and attempted to run away, but he was caught and taken into custody. County police said a firearm was recovered from the scene.
