Miami Police has taken delivery of a newly customized SWAT Tactical Command vehicle from LDV Custom Specialty Vehicles.
Designed to enhance operations in the field, the Command vehicle is built on a Freightliner MT-55 forward control chassis, the vehicle is powered by a CUMMINS B6.7L diesel engine (260HP) and features an Allison 2200EVS automatic transmission for reliable performance.
The all-aluminum body includes Extreme Duty body storage compartments for rugged durability. Entry is accessible via a curbside door or rear entry, with a custom flip-down rear step for ease of access. A full emergency lighting and siren package enhances visibility, while a Warn winch mounted on the front bumper provides additional functionality.
Inside the vehicle
Designed for versatility and security, the interior features:
- Two rows of fixed bench seating for personnel
- A secure, lockable gun compartment with a roll-up door
- A removable center table for workspace flexibility
- Commercial-grade aluminum cabinetry with ample storage for gear
- Overhead cabinets with dry erase writing surfaces
- A large rear storage closet for additional equipment
- Ceiling grab handles for added stability in transit
- A microwave for convenience in the field
