Myths and misconceptions abound when it comes to the use of deadly force by law enforcement officers, according to a video posted on the Post Falls Police Department’s website.

Created by the Eugene, Ore. police department and the district attorney’s office in Lane County, the video features national and regional experts in forensics and law enforcement. It was posted on the Post Falls PD’s website in late March, not long after two Post Falls police officers were involved in the fatal shooting of fugitive Justin Todd. That matter remains under investigation.

“This video provides important details regarding officer-involved shootings and the process used to investigate them. The process that is explained is from Lane County in Oregon, however, the process used in the Idaho, Region One Officer Involved Critical Incident Investigations Team is similar,” states the website.
