SAN JOSE, Calif. — Two police officers suffered minor injuries on Monday after a hospital patient stole a police car and crashed into another patrol car, reported NBC Bay Area.
According to the report, it all began when a patient started fighting with security at a San Jose hospital. An officer who saw the patient run from the hospital jumped out of his cruiser to start a foot pursuit. But the patient circled back and hopped into the running, now-empty cruiser. The man took off in the police car, hit another person and then rammed the stolen cruiser into another police SUV, the report says.
Cellphone video captured the chaotic scene. In the video, the stolen cruiser is seen crashing into another police car in a busy intersection.
The suspect was then arrested and charged with several felonies, according to the report. Police said the two officers and another person suffered minor injuries.
